Sunrise Eggs

Our beautiful red laying hens live out on pasture. They supplement their diet with seeds, bugs, and even the occasional frog. They lay eggs in the morning and roost at night in our mobile chicken coop. These are the best eggs you'll ever taste, with yolks so orange they're almost red. Eggs are sold on CSA pickup days for $6.25 a dozen. 

Mobile Coop

The mobile chicken coop was upgraded in 2025 to increase the efficiency of our pasture management. It holds 800 hens, and we move it twice weekly to bring the girls onto fresh pasture. Thanks to the State of Vermont’s Working Lands Enterprise Grant program for helping us make this capital upgrade.

Room to Roam

Electric net fencing is the key to effective management, as it keeps the hens in and the coyotes and foxes out. The flock has access to a quarter acre of grass at any one time.
